Erie's future depends on making smart investments today. Our current water system is under pressure, and we're already seeing growth limitations tied to available water capacity. While we're waiting on regional projects like NISP and Chimney Hollow, we also need to invest in the infrastructure that gives Erie more flexibility for the future, including expanding our ability to treat additional water sources. Before approving more growth, we need confidence that our water system, roads, parks, schools, and public safety can support the families who are already here and those who will call Erie home in the years ahead.
My focus is making sure we have the water, roads, public facilities, and long-term planning necessary to support our community before approving additional growth.

Protect Open Space & Agriculture.
Open space isn't protected simply because we call it open space. If we want to preserve the views, agricultural heritage, and natural landscapes that define Erie, we need to think beyond today's land use and focus on long-term protection. As a Certified General Appraiser with experience valuing conservation easements and agricultural land, I understand the tools available to help preserve these places while respecting private property rights.
Pursue permanent protection of meaningful open spaces whenever appropriate.
Work collaboratively with willing landowners to preserve agricultural land and important viewsheds through fair compensation and voluntary conservation tools.

Before committing to new spending, we should understand the long-term costs, prioritize our core infrastructure and public safety needs, and ensure we're building a financially resilient community. By managing our resources wisely, we can continue investing in the parks, trails, community events, parades, and traditions that make Erie such a special place to call home. Good stewardship isn't always about spending less, it's about spending your tax dollars on the right priorities.
